With three decades of experience in engineering and project management, Gord Crawford is a seasoned leader in the energy sector.

Prior to leading Expander Energy, he co-founded and served as Vice President of an established mid-sized EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) engineering firm in Edmonton, Alberta.

Gord has a strong track record of assembling and managing high-performance teams for complex energy project development. He is deeply versed in the clean energy landscape and is passionately overseeing the commercialization of Expander’s portfolio of patented renewable fuel technologies.

Improving Economic and Environmental Outcomes with Lower Carbon Intensity Fuels

There are many pathways for conversion of Biomass into “drop in” liquid distillate fuels, specifically Renewable Diesel (RD) and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).  Each pathway has different conversion efficiencies, economic performance and long-term production costs. Generating low carbon products that have a Life cycle carbon intensity (CI) of 5 gCO2e/MJ (over 90% reduction from fossil diesel / jet fuel emissions) has been quite the journey and there’s more to come.  Demonstrating a strong financial performance is key and there have been many learnings along the way as these technology approaches have been developed to achieve such.
