Welcoming Brian Humphreys as ACR’s New President

The Alberta Chamber of Resources (ACR) is excited to announce the appointment of Brian Humphreys as our new President, effective August 25, 2025.

This leadership transition marks an important moment in ACR’s history as we prepare to celebrate our 90th Anniversary in 2026. With Alberta and Canada’s resource industries facing new opportunities and challenges in an evolving global landscape, Brian’s vision and leadership will help position ACR for renewed relevance and growth in the years ahead.

Who is Brian Humphreys?

Brian brings over two decades of experience in corporate and external affairs across Canada, the U.S., and internationally. He has built trusted relationships with governments, industry, and stakeholders, consistently delivering results on policy and regulatory priorities.

His career includes:

  • C-suite operational leadership roles in the private sector

  • Advisory and consulting work with industry associations to strengthen influence and organizational capacity

  • Early career service in government, giving him a unique perspective on how industry and policymakers can work together

Throughout his career, Brian has been recognized for his approachable leadership style, ability to bring people together, and commitment to finding constructive solutions to complex challenges.

What Brian Will Do for ACR

As President, Brian will work closely with ACR’s members, stakeholders, and partners to:

  • Maintain and strengthen ACR’s strong relationships with government and industry, ensuring ACR remains a trusted forum where collaboration thrives.

  • Serve as a sounding board for government and policymakers, helping to connect them with industry expertise on emerging issues.

  • Provide members with opportunities for connection and dialogue, amplifying their voices on matters critical to Alberta’s resource development.

  • Advance responsible and sustainable development across all resource sectors—energy, forestry, mining, and minerals—while positioning Alberta as a global leader.

Most importantly, Brian is approachable and eager to engage with members. He is committed to listening, learning, and working alongside you to build ACR’s future.
