Alberta Chamber of Resources Welcomes Scott Hierath as Executive Director

Calgary, AB… (January 31, 2022) The Alberta Chamber of Resources’ Executive Committee is pleased to announce that Mr. Scott Hierath has joined the organization as its Executive Director, effective February 1, 2022.

Mr. Hierath joins the Chamber from the Government of Alberta, where he most recently served as Senior Advisor to the Minister of Energy, Hon. Sonya Savage. He brings over 20 years of private and public sector experience with a background in leading government relations, policy development, stakeholder engagement, and business development in the energy sector, post-secondary education, agriculture and political spheres.

“On behalf of the Board, we are delighted to have Scott’s leadership and strategic mindset to guide the organization to achieve its mission of providing cross-sector leadership for the strategic and responsible development of Alberta’s natural resources,” says Kim Sturgess, President, Alberta Chamber of Resources. “With the pace of change in the province, the Alberta Chamber of Resources is valued for its history as a convening space for advancing responsible development. Scott’s background across government, energy, agriculture and post-secondary will enable our members to ensure their contributions are shared.”

As an organization, the Alberta Chamber of Resources will focus on the theme “Resource Industry of the Future.” Mr. Hierath’s initial work will be to leverage our members’ expertise to enhance the relationship between the resource sector and organizations, governments and agencies to advance strategies and initiatives that will drive continued responsible resource development in the province of Alberta.
