The ACR Mining Industry Advisory Committee (MIAC) is inviting you to attend its 2nd Annual Research Summit on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Engineering.
The objective of the summit is to engage decision makers, technology leaders and innovators in the mining industry in Alberta and beyond, and set the stage for greater collaborative action and ultimately new technology deployment. There will be a review of the past years activities in the mining innovation space including updates from four focal points: Canada Mining Innovation Council, Canada’s Oil Sands Innovation Alliance, Global Mining Group, and University of Alberta Mining. The results from last year’s Symposium will be discussed and a review of key imperatives and priorities as identified in the CMIC Surface Mining Workshop will be presented. Attendee participation and input will be facilitated through a panel discussion and group exercise with a focus on the path forward.
The overarching objective is to have greater alignment on technology development opportunities and clarity on how we leverage these research, technology and innovation focal points to accelerate technology deployment in the mining industry.
Attendees include mine operators, research organizations, academia, equipment manufacturers and suppliers and industrial service providers.
